Burial procedures in Turks (until X. century) burial ceremonies in Malatya and its surroundings (Battalgazi-Arapgir)

Turkish thought about "Death and the Other World" until the X. Century, burial rituals, approach to death in Anatolia and related customs, reflection of the understanding of death from past to present in Malatya and its environs, beliefs about death in Battalgazi and Arapgir districts and tombs and in our study, tried to be expressed in the light of souroes. In the light of these reflection forms, funeral ceremonies, Mythological – Unic and other subjects, beliefs in Anatolia and Malatya and its surroundings, historical tombs and artifacts, our study titled "Burial Procedures in Turks (Until X. Century) Burial Ceremonies in Malatya and its Surroundings (Battalgazi – Arapgir )" is generally concemed with identifying the origins, causes anda connetions of these projections with bellefs in the after life. Regarding the subject the Huns, Kyrgyz, Gagauz, Goktürks from the prototurks to the 10 th century, in line with their beliefs about death and the other world, burial types are discussed in the first part. In the second death; the reflection of the belief in death and the other world in Anatolia and in the third part, the reflection of the death customs from the old Turks to the present in Malatya and its surroundings and in the Battalgazi and Arapgir districts of Malatya were tried to be expressed in the light of the sources. In this study, various scenes depicted on the tombs have been tried to be analyzed allagoically. While making these analyzes the geography of Turkestan, Mesopotamia, Anatolia, Malatya, Battalgazi, Arapgir, people's religious beliefs, socio-cultral lives and myths, world of belief, from the emergence of the Turks on the stage of history until the 10 th century, were taken into account. The result is that the societies that lived in Anatolia from the Huns knows as the first ancestors of the Turks, to the present day, have adopted the belief that death is not an and that the human spirit continues to live in another place after death. One of the most important facts in this common belief is that the deceased reunite with or be their loved ones in the next world. Achieving a happy and eternal afterlifee is thought to be related to the individual characteristics and efforts of individuals. The men who died were generally glorified for their heroism, wisdom, and nobility. It can be seen that women are exalted with their motherhood, being good wives, nobility and chastity. These personality traits of dead individuals were reflected in various forms on their graves. The aim is to send them to a happy afterlife with these features and not to be forgotten in this world and to keep them alive with their good features.
