Abstract (EN)

We started first to translate into Latin alphabet the Matallars in Turkmen language that were in the verbal products in a compilations " Yedigenim Yedi Yıldız " ( Aşgabat, 1989) Our work is consisted of 4 sections. " Phonetics", "Morphology", "Words as per meanings and function" and "Text". First we translated 1 134 riddles that took place in Matallar (riddles) section from Kiril alphabet to Latin originated Turkish alphabet. Later we explained them in Turkish language of Turkey. We filed in cards each word and separated them with their suffix and roots. After having classified them, we evaluated according their "phonetics" and morphology" and formed a grammar of the text that we have studied. In first 3 chapters we compared the filed words with old Turkish language characteristics. With this comparison by going to the source, we pointed out similarities and differences with Turkmen Language. We printed in bold letters the words that we did not understand in order to keep the original rhyme of the riddles. Some words are written in original with bold letters and put the meaning as footnote, After this study we observed that Turkmen riddles and Turkish riddles are close to each other. Since the length of the vowels in first syllable are not shown in writing of Turkmen words, we referred to dictionaries for fixing them. So we studied phonetic and morphology of Turkmen Language and evaluated the length of first and second vowels. Key words : Turkmen language, Matal, Riddle. Turkmen literature.
