Abstract (EN)
In the study, the development times of Phyllocoptruta oleivora (Ashmead) (Acari:Eriophyidae) were determined at different temperatures, current information about its thermal constant and development threshold was obtained at Citrus pest laboratory, department of plant protection Cukurova University. In addition, the development times of P. oleivora in different citrus species were also determined. Temperature experiments were carried out at 20, 24, 28, and 32 °C. The development time of P. oleivora in different citrus species was studied on W. Murcott tangerine, Kütdiken lemon, Valencia orange, Washington navel orange and Star Ruby grapefruit. In the study, the shortest development time was determined at 32°C, while the longest development time was determined at 20°C. The highest egg laying rate was found at 28°C, while the lowest egg laying rate was observed at 20°C. The development threshold (t) in Valencia orange was found to be t= 6.7°C. The total effective temperature, that is, thermal constant (Th.C.), required from egg period to adult was determined as Th.C.= 149.25 day-degrees. The longest development period was determined in the Valencia orange variety, and the shortest development period was determined in the Washington navel orange variety. While the highest egg laying rate was found in Kütdiken variety, the lowest egg laying rate was observed in W. Murcott variety.
