Abstract (EN)

Seeds of Birlik-125 and Özbaş have been used as plant material at the study. Pre-treatments have been done to the seeds before sowing for the purpose of improving of the seed germination, emergence rate and emergence speed of these seeds and also increasing of the quality characteristics of the seedlings. For this purpose pre-treatments have been done to known optimal aplication, dosages, time and the temperature for each tobacco seeds. Ten different Main-treatments have been done to the seeds of tobacco species with the control. They are main treatments of PEG-6000 and KNO3 formed by combination of plant growth regulators which are Gibberellic acid (GA3 ) and 6- Benzylaminopurine (6- BA), humidification, calibration, hydropriming. -12 MPa PEG-6000, %2 KNO3+GA3, -12 MPa PEG+GA3 treatments had highest results in seed germination/emergence rate all tobacco varieties, but KNO3+BA ve PEG+BA treatments had no positive effect on tobacco seeds. Results of -12 MPa PEG-6000, %2 KNO3+GA3, -12 MPa PEG+GA3 treatments germination rate had increased %88,75 and germination period had decreased 40,11 hours for Birlik-125. Also they had increased germination rate %75,75 and decreased germination period 47,60 hours for Özbaş. The results showed differences according to varieties. Keywords: tobacco, priming, KNO3, PEG-6000, germination
