Abstract (EN)

The research was carried out for characterize Turkish tobacco landraces in Tokat-Kazova conditions in 2019. Three standard varieties (Birlik-124, Bitlis, Nail) and 314 tobacco accessions provide by Turkey Seed Gene Bank were used as material. Some morphological, agronomic and chemical properties of genotypes were investigated. In general, the lines in the study have mid-late, light pink colored and spherical flower clusters. It was observed that the plant shape was elliptical, the plant height was medium, the number of leaves was high, and the leaf width and length were in the middle scales. It has been determined that the leaf of the lines are mostly narrowly veiled, broadly elliptical in shape, and have leaf weak blistering and undulation. Dry leaf yield, grade index value, reducing sugar, nicotine, and the raw ash content of the lines was varied respectively (35.90-416.17 kg/da, 36.15-93-12%, 10.46-29-79%, 0.03-2.72% and 14.34-25.91%). It has been determined that there is a very wide variation in the lines in terms of the characteristics examined in the study. This shows that Turkey has a wide variation in tobacco. This creates a good infrastructure for a wide variety of work being done and to be done.
