Abstract (EN)

The concept of freedom has been at the center of philosophical discussions throughout the history of philosophy. According to Hegel, who intensively discussed the concept, "The History of The World is none other than the progress of the consciousness of Freedom ." Hegel investigated consciousness's stages in "the phenomenology of Spirt". In the Self-consciousness chapter, he discussed the encounter of two self-consciousnesses and their struggle for recognition. Hegel described this struggle as master-slave relationship. He claimed that the contradictions between master and slave just could be solved in the state. The state incorporates particular into universals and all self consciousnesses recognize each other; Because, according to him, the state is the march of God on the earth and the freedom has become factual in it. However; Hegelian state, which he puts on par with freedom, has its own contradictions. The contradictions could not neither be solved in Hegelian state nor in the modern states after him. He excluded women from his own state while placing middle class in the centre of it. For this reason, although his followers used his philosophy to form their philosophy, his philosophy has also been criticized. Marx and Simone de Beauvoir were influenced by Master and Slave Dialectics, forming their philosophies. The most prominent figures of Post-colonial Theory, Frantz Fanon, Memmi and Césaire thought that the encountering of colonized and colonizer should have been discussed within the framework of Master and Slave Dialectics. Therefore, it can be said that Hegelian Dialectics is still up to date. Based on Hegel's Master and Slave Dialectics, this thesis aims at exploring through which moments, the idea of freedom has passed and progressed in Kurdish novels. For this purpose, three Kurdish Novels were selected and examined according to Lucien Goldmann's genetic structuralism. According to Goldmann, the literary text is the expression of world vision of a social groups or class. The subject of a literary product is not the writer himself, it is collective subject The method focuses on not only intrinsic analysis of literary work but also social group consciousness. The formation of this consciousness can only be revealed by a historical and social analayze. In the context, Erebê Şemo's Jiyana Bextewar, Jan Dost's Mijabad Çidem Baran' Lerizînên Tenêtiyê have been analaysed. In this way, this study seeks the progress of the consciousness of freedom in Kurdish novels from the point of three different social groups.
