Abstract (EN)

The aircraft selection process is one of the most important and difficult issues in civil aviation area.While you are trying to improve customer satisfaction it is also important to reduce yourmaintenance and management costs. As the investment costs are very high and the return of theinvestment rate is so low there is a big competition in aviation sector through airline companies. Inthis research the short/medium haul aircraft models Airbus A321-200, Airbus A320-200, BoeingB737-800, Boeing B737-900 and Boeing B737-900X are compared while the current situation ofthe Turkish Civil Aviation is taken into consideration.The model of Analytical Hierarchy Process, designed for the solution of multi-criteria complexdecision problems, is used to build up and solve the aircraft selection model. The model is solvedby using Matlab 6.5 software. Also in the same problem, as there is some indefinite and unknowndata, Fuzzy AHP is applied. And the solutions of both methods are compared.
