Abstract (EN)

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the predictive power of the HALP (hemoglobin, albumin, lymphocyte, platelet) score in estimating short-term mortality and morbidity in geriatric patients admitted to the emergency department. Methods: Patients aged 65 and above who applied to the emergency department of Dicle University Hospital between December 2024 and October 2024 were evaluated retrospecti vely. HALP scores were calculated using routine laboratory data, and the association with in-hospital mortality and complication development was evaluated. Results: Patients with lower HALP scores had significantly higher rates of mortality and morbidity. ROC analysis showed that the HALP score had high sensitivity and specificity in predicting short-term mortality. Conclusion: The HALP score may be a valuable biomarker in predicting adverse clinical outcomes in geriatric patients presenting to the emergency department. Keywords: HALP score, geriatric patient, mortality, morbidity, emergency department.
