Abstract (EN)
Third world security approaches which have started to deal with third world countries security problems in 1980 which gained to their independence after the second world war, has revealed that other security theories are insufficient in explaining the third world, and they have focus on first world for the security dilemmas.In this study, Mohammed Ayoob and William Reno?s approaches which has capacity to explain most comprehensively conflicts in the region and third world security issues, will be held as a conceptual framework and as a study area security issues in Great Lakes Region in Africa where the conflicts intensively appears will be placed.In addition to security issues of the Third World, have Great Lakes Region states which consist of Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kenya and Tanzania distinctive features, as conflicts intensively appears.In this context, the thesis consists of two parts. In the first part of studies, Third Word Security Concepts adopted as a conceptual framework and Muhammed Ayoob?s and William Reno?s Third World Security Approaches will be examined. In the second part, both the Great Lakes Region?s security problems which are one of the world's most troubled and stateless regions will be evaluated by the scope of third world security approaches, and the resolution suggestions will be presented in both general and also in national levels.Keywords: Africa, Great Lakes Region, third world, security, third world security approaches
