Abstract (EN)
The state of ?country of origin? which was being issued with ?made in? label,that was used to prevent consumers to buy German products after World WarI, first examined by Japanese scientist Nagashima in 1970. In this subject,considerable information has been founded about the effects of country of originon consumers choices by examinations was made until today.Nowadays, every brand could be found in almost every country and all kind ofinformation is reachable via internet by the effect of globalism. The world wasgetting smaller by development of transportation. In this over-competitivesituation, marketing of products, getting investment and tourist become difficultfor countries. For this reason many countries invest in ?country of origin andimage?, developing long-term strategies, even some governments are havingconsultants.There are quite few researches related to ?country of origin? in Türkiye. Alsogovernments have started to show interest about this topic only recent years. Bythis dissertation, tried to contribute on this shortage in Türkiye. Extent of thissubject, marketing mix and brand are examined and country names arediscussed as world brands under the first part. In the second part, the process ofdeveloping country image, measurement of country image, transmission ofcountry image and fixing a negative country image are investigated. In the thirdpart, purchasing process was examined for consumers, tourists and institutionsfrom international marketing aspect. Eventually in the last section, country oforigin effects are investigated on consumer buying process, tourist productbuying process and institutional buying process.Türkiye evaluation, wasn?t examined under a separate part; but examined inevery heading, so subject was tried to be adapted to example of Türkiye.
