Abstract (EN)

Objective: This researchCannabis sativa This study was conducted to investigate and elucidate the possible positive effect of seed oil on ulcerative colitis. Material and Methods: The study was carried out in Aydın Adnan Menderes University, dividing 24 Wistar Albino rats, approximately 2 months old, into four groups. Experimental ulcerative colitis model was created with TNBS. Data were obtained by taking samples from blood and colon tissue. The data were statistically evaluated by the researcher and his supervisor. It was examined histopathologically and biochemically SOD, CAT, GSH, GSH Px, MDA levels were checked. Findings: When colitis and treatment groups were compared, there were significant macroscopic and microscopic differences between the groups (p<0.05). MPO, MDA, CAT, GSH Px, IL1 beta, TNF alpha, SOD levels measured at tissue level in the treatment group showed significant results compared to the colitis group (p<0.05). CAT activity was statistically significant in the control group compared to the TNBS group. CS3 group was statistically significant compared to TNBS group. In SOD activity, TNBS group was significantly higher than the control group. CS groups were significantly higher than TNBS groups. The control group was significantly lower than the CS1 group. TNF alpha level was significantly lower in the control group compared to TNBS. TNBS group was significantly higher than CS3 group (p<0.05). MDA level was found to be significantly higher in the TNBS group between control and TNBS. Between control and CS groups, it was found significantly higher in CS groups. Between CS and TNBS, it was found significantly higher in TNBS groups (p<0.05). GSH Px level was significantly higher in the TNBS group between TNBS and control groups. It was found statistically significantly higher in the control groups in the control-CS groups. In CS- TNBS groups, it was found significantly higher in CS groups (p<0.05). In IL1 beta levels, TNBS level was found to be statistically significantly higher in the control TNBS groups. CS1 level was found significantly higher in control CS groups. TNBS level was significantly higher in TNBS-CS groups (p<0.05). MPO levels were found to be statistically significant extremely high between control-TNBS and TNBS. CS1 group was found higher between control-CS groups. TNBS level was found statistically significantly higher between TNBS-CS groups (p<0.05). MDA level was found to be significantly higher in TNBS between control-TNBS. A significant increase was found in CS groups between control-CS groups. TNBS was found statistically significantly higher between TNBS- CS groups (p<0.05). Results: Cannabis sativa seed oil 1 ml/kg and 3 ml/kg dose groups, which were experimentally induced ulcerative colitis with TNBS and applied to the colitis model, significantly reduced inflammation when histopathological and biochemical parameters were examined. As a result, the colitis that occurred significantly in the colitis group was significantly reduced in the CS groups and the healing and therapeutic properties of the CS groups were statistically revealed. (P<0.05). Key Words: Cannabis sativa seed oil, Cannabis sativa, Flaxseed, Hemp, Ulcerative colitis.
