Abstract (EN)
Smell is one of the five senses of man, and scents are produced and used for therapy, treatment and many purposes. Spraying, rubbing, scent bands and steam methods are used to spread the scent efficiently into the atmosphere. The most widely used method is spraying. This process makes it difficult to keep the sprayed liquid substance in the air due to gravity. In other methods, odor is released from the object, and it reduces the spread of odor by limiting the spread of odor trapped by the objects. Therefore, all of these methods were found to be inefficient methods. In this thesis, essential oils, which are the source of odor, are kept in the air by ultrasonic levitation method, allowing the odor molecules to be released into the atmosphere efficiently. A piezo ceramic-based ultrasonic transmitter was used to keep the oil particles in the air by ultrasonic levitation method. In order for the system to generate 40KHz mechanical acoustic pressure, the piezo ceramic material was controlled with L298N integration. The system was followed by image processing techniques, and the diffusion of the scent and the efficiency of essential oil varieties were tested thanks to the oil drop size tests developed with the OPENCV library. In addition, odor diffusion tests were also performed on the subjects, and it was determined that there was at least 6 times more odor release into the atmosphere than essential oils (rose and tea tree oils).
