Özet (EN)

Nowadays disinfection processes applied in order to prevent infectious diseases play an important role in the of drinking and usage water supply. The number of studies made on alternative disinfection technologies such as ultrasound are increasing due to water disinfection techniques which are widely used for pathogenic microorganisms borne epidemic disease prevention application such as, chlorination, ozonation, UV radiation, have several disadvantages. Ultrasonic disinfection practices are being developed to be used in water treatment, their efficacy on a variety of pathogenic microorganisms must be investigated. This study the disinfection process was performed in continuous and batch reactors which are run in 22kHz, 36kHz and 833 kHz ultrasonic ultrasonic frequencies via using Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria. In this study the effects of ultrasonic contact time, applied power density, sulfate, nitrate, bicarbonate ions and nitrogen gas existing on the water medium, were investigated to ultrasonic disinfection process. Also, the amount of silver required for Klebsiella pneumonia disinfection was reduced with using of ultrasound in combination with silver ions .
