Prohibition of discrimination against disabled in the light of international human rights law conventions

Discrimination with many different types is one of the oldest and most common violations that prevent all rights subjects from taking advantage of human rights on equal terms. It also prevents the realization of equality as legal and actual. The most important factor in the violation of the fundamental rights of disabled people is the discrimination they are subjected to. Almost all of the international human rights conventions have adopted the principle of equality by prohibiting discrimination on various grounds. Human rights conventions that regulate the prohibition of discrimination are very important to protect against discrimination arising from discrimination against persons with disabilities. In fact, international human rights conventions generally protect all people, including people with disabilities. Therefore, theoretically, it can be considered that there is no need for separate protection for persons with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups. In practice, however, separate arrangements for persons with disabilities and the provision of special protection for them have emerged as a necessity. For this reason, in the course of time, legal regulations aimed at protecting persons with disabilities have begun to be included in national law and international human rights conventions.
