Abstract (EN)

Due to the technological innovation progress and the geopolitical location of Turkey which connects continents, the Air Cargo Transportation numbers and ratios have increased dramatically. This research study has been prepared in order to investigate the problems arose from education deficiencies of air cargo staff in logistics industry in Turkey. It is aimed to provide solutions to these problems in order to decrease the deficiencies of air cargo transportation. First of all, relevant information regarding the international logistic companies' air cargo departments are provided and human resources management and hiring conditions in these departments are mentioned. Next, education levels of air cargo department staff are examined, and the sufficiency levels are researched. The regulations regarding the air cargo transportation in Turkey and around the world are examined. In the last part of the study, a survey has been prepared among the 100 emplooyes 10 companies totally 269 worker which serve in Istanbul Ataturk Airport and are in the first 15 in the IATA ranking list. As a result of this research, the deficiencies of the air cargo staff has emerged, highlighted and the problems have been further investigated.
