Effects of international sport organizations to spread out olympic education: 23rd Universiade summer games

The aim of this study was to expose the effects of international sportorganizations for spreading out the olympic education using the qualitative researchmethod. In this study University Games which comes from one of the biggest sportorganizations after the Olympic Games is taken as a case study.To reach this aim opinions of the 4 Physical Education and Sports University?sadministrator -12 interviewers- that give the direct support to the 23rd UniverstiySummer Games in zmir are taken with the techniques of the interview method. It isapplied to their thoughts, experiences and profits after the end of this organization andalso is wanted to learn how these administrators transfer the olympic education ?thatmust be adopt as a life philosophy? to the future?s sports managers, physical educationteachers and the trainers .The results of the 7 interview and 10 comment questions turned into codes withthe qualitative research method and 28 main themes, some other related themes havefound. These codes showed us; Participators express that understanding of Olympismhad part in Universiade 2005, zmir with the factors like education level, culturecomprehension. Furthermore it is seemed that International organizations have animportant positive contribution for increasing sports culture. And creating this culture itis came out that olympic education programme could help for this aim. AlthoughOlympic Education Programme has been known by the developed countries, the studiesfor becoming widespread is needed to take part in all parts of Turkish education system.One of other important result of the codes is the programme must support with ourNational Education Ministry and the other Institutions.Key Words: Olympic Education, International Sports Organizations, Universiade,Sport Administrator.
