Investigation of the relationship between self-differentiation and wellness of university students

The purpose of this study is to analyse the relationship between self-differentiation and wellness in university students. The study is a correlational research conducted in accordance with the relational screening model and aimed at examining the relationship between differentiation of self and wellness. The sample of the study consist of 313 university students (217 female, 96 male) attending Gaziantep University Education Faculty. "Wellness Star Scale", "Differentiation of Self Scale" and "Personal Information Form" created by the researcher were used to collect the data in the research. During the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics along with the T-Test, Kruskal Wallis analysis, ANOVA, LSD test from post-hoc tests, Pearson Correlation analysis and Multiple Regression analysis were used. According to the findings of the study, it was observed that there was a statistically moderately positive and significant relationship between differentiation of self and wellness. The multiple linear regression model established according to the effect of the differentiation of self on the total scores of the wellness scale is statistically significant. Differentiation of self I position and emotional cutoff sub-dimensions predict students' general wellness levels positively. There is no statistically significant difference between the levels of wellness according to gender and the self-differentiation are higher in men than in women. There is no statistically significant difference between the scores of the differentiation of self according to the department, but there is a significant difference between the scores of wellness. There is no significant difference between wellness and differentiation of self scores in terms of class level, educational status of parents and income rates.
