Abstract (EN)
The research was carried out in a descriptive and analytical design in order to determine all kinds of hostile attitudes (misogyny) towards women in university students. The population of the research consisted of 18,777 undergraduate students studying at a university in the Western Black Sea Region of Turkey in the spring semester of 2021- 2022. 380 (171 female-209 male) students determined by stratified random sampling method were included in the sample of the study. Research data were collected using Personal Information Form and Mizogyni Scale. Independent-Samples T test, One-Way ANOVA, Tukey, Welch test, Tamhane's T2 test, pearson correlation and linear regression analysis were used to evaluate the data. Students' misogyny scale total score average is 56.00±25.40, prejudice and discrimination sub-dimension mean score is 32.46±15.69, female phobia sub-dimension mean score is 12.89±6.76, traditional role compression sub-dimension mean score It was found to be 10.60±5.0410, 60±5.04. There was a positive and low-level difference of 0.05 between the total mean score of the misogyny scale, prejudice and discrimination, and the women's phobia subdimension mean score according to the age of the students. It was determined that the mean score of the scale increased as the age increased. It was found that the total mean score of the women's misogyny scale was 0.42 times lower than that of the men. The scale total score and all subscales were determined according to the variables of gender, place of birth, region of origin, faculty where education was attended, place of residence for the longest time, income level, educational status of the mother, the state of thinking that there is a hostile attitude towards women in Turkish society, and the definition variables that she felt close to. a significant difference was found between the dimension mean scores. Similarly, a significant difference was found between the "Prejudice and discrimination" sub-dimension mean score according to the variables of place of residence, income level, and educational status of the mother for the longest time. significant difference was determined between the mean. It was found that there was a significant difference in the mean scores of the sub-dimension "squeezing into the traditional role" according to the faculty, class, place of residence for the longest time and graduated high school. In line with these findings, it has been suggested that awareness raising studies on misogyny be planned and implemented in university students and that similar studies should be carried out in different groups and larger samples. Key Words: Attitude scale, Hostile attitude, Misogyny, University students, Woman.
