Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between subjective well-being and self-esteem of college students who are coping with stress. Research was conducted in accordance with the general screening model. It was administered to randomly selected 160 female students and 140 male students from Istanbul province, to a total of 300 people. As data collection tools, subjective well-being scale, Rosenberg self-esteem scale, scale of coping with stress were used. Personal Information Form has been created in order to determine the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants. Results of the survey established that; girls had higher subjective well-being levels than boys, subjective well-being levels tended to increase due to aging, individuals who studied psychology displayed higher subjective well-being levels than othersren , first child displayed more self-esteem than others, and self-confidence of individuals studying law, were much higher than others. Subjective well-being scale scores and submissive approach scale scores were found to be negatively related. In other words, the higher the level of subjective well-being; the lower the submissive approach, was detected.Other related research findings, and suggestions for psychological counselors and families had been provided in the discussion section.
