Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between university students' cognitive evaluations and emotional arrangements and psychological resilience. It was also examined whether psychological resilience differs according to some demographic variables (age, gender and class level). In this study, it was investigated whether the mean scores of psychological resilience, cognitive assessment and emotion regulation differ according to gender and grade levels. The level of predicting psychological soundness of cognitive assessment and emotion regulation variables was also examined. The sample of the study consists of Aydın Adnan Menderes University 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students. Of the students participating in the research, 194 are women and 174 are men. The total number of participants participating in the research is 368. Participating students are between 18-30 years old and the average age is 22. "Short Psychological Strength Scale", "Cognitive Assessment Scale", "Emotional Regulation Questionnaire" and "Personal Information Form" were used to collect the data obtained in the research. SPSS 22.0 program was used while analyzing the data. The analyzes performed are 'T-Test', 'One Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA)', 'Pearson Correlation Analysis' and 'Regression Analysis'. Considering the results of the study, a significant difference was found between the mean scores of psychological resilience and cognitive re-evaluation and gender. When we look at the mean scores of psychological resilience, it is revealed that men score higher than women, but women score higher than men in cognitive re-evaluation scores. No significant difference was found between the mean scores of subscales of suppression and cognitive evaluation and gender. As a result of the research, it was found that the variables did not differ according to their class levels. As a result of the research, it was found that there was a positive correlation between psychological resilience and cognitive re-evaluation, and a negative correlation between factor 3 (having a self-injurious situation subscale). No relation was found between psychological resilience and suppression, factor 1(negative perception of the person by others), factor 2 (a situation that harms a loved one) and secondary evaluation. It was determined that cognitive re-evaluation and factor 3 sub-dimensions predicted psychological soundness. Cognitive reassessment was found to explain approximately 7% of psychological resilience alone, while factor 3 explains about 2% of psychological resilience alone, and about 9% of psychological resilience together. All the findings obtained were discussed by examining the relevant literature.
