Abstract (EN)

Surveillance has been a concept that has played a major role in the conduct of observation and analysis of individual behavior throughout history. The concept of surveillance is a matter of power with its parties. The subject of the observer and the object of the observer bring about individual and social problems. Violation of privacy and security, control and manipulation, directing and oversight are issues discussed by the individual and society. Nowadays, the internet is very effective place in the life of the individual in the presence of developing technologies. In the presence of changing social structures, internet is an area where individuals represent themselves. This area, where communication processes are in an interactive structure, puts surveillance into a digital quality. The technological infrastructure of the Internet enables individual surveillance to be performed more effectively. The internet, which has a universal character, points to an area where it is used extensively by university students. So, what is the awareness of university students for online surveillance? University students' perception of internet surveillance is very important in terms of answering the issues discussed. In this study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 university students studying in undergraduate and graduate programs. In the interviews, the received opinions were interpreted.
