Relationship between perceived parental rearing styles and future time orientations of university student's program choice

Mature individuals spend a significant part of their time to look for their vocation and orientation. Thus, our vocation choice shapes a consequent part of our future, making in that regard a small but decisive difference between the quest for professional orientation though course selection at university and how these choices are made. This research aims at discover university students' attitudes towards their future and how it is impacted by their perceived relations with their parents. The study's data were collected at universities, from university students with different majors. This analysis was led by the researcher surveying volunteer students, through Personal Information Forms asking them what was important in their orientation choice, through a Shortened Perceived Parents-Children Attitudes Form (KAET- C) to understand the students' perceptions of their relations with their parents, and through an Attitude towards Prospects Measurement Form to evaluate the students' behaviours towards their future. The research used the SPSS 21.0 method to conduct its analysis. Results of the study reveals that 67.2 % of participants consider their interests while choosing their department . However, 32.8% of participants dont consider their interests while choosing their deparmant. According to these result and the rate of positive and planned future orientations is higher in participants consider their interesests while chosing their department. After graduation individuals who choose their department regarding to job opportunity get higher score on over protection attitude of father compared to individuals who choose their departmant considering their skills and interest. Also this study was research relations between university student's Egna Minnen Betraffande Uppforsran-My Memories of Upbringing ( warmth, overprotection, rejection; separetely for each parent) and their Future Orientations (positive, anxious and planned). Lastly , results were discussed depending on the current litarature.
