Investigation of sociotrophy-automotive personalities by university students 'relationship between romanticism and each selection

The aim of this research is to examine the university students' attitudes towards romanticism and spouse selection and sociotropy-autonomy personality characteristics in terms of various variables. The research was designed according to descriptive method and relational scanning model. The data used in the research constitute 431 students, selected by chance sampling among the university students studying at Gaziantep University in 2014-2015 Academic Year. The Romanticism and spouse selection scale developed by Cobb, Larson and Watson (2003) and adapted to Turkish by Cihan, Yilmaz and Çelik and the Sociotropy-Autonomy scale developed By Beck, Epstein, Harrison and Emery (1983) and adapted to Turkish by Şahin (1993) and "Personal Information Form" created by the researcher were used as data collection tools. In the analysis of the data, Spearman Brown rank difference correlation coefficient test technique, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, percentile distribution, Levene F test, One way variance analysis of the data, Spearman Kruskal Wallis test and Mann Whitney-U test from nonparametric tests, Dunnet-T3 multiple comparison test from Post-Hoc analysis technique were applied. İt was found that the place of living and socio economic status dit not make a meaningful difference, but it has a meaningful difference in neans of the romanticism perception and spouse selection of participating students in research according to romantic affair scale in living together and alane and only one right idealization subscale; according to gender invariable living together and alone and effort sub scale; according to age scale in total confidence sub scale; according to class variable in love is low enough sub scale; according to faculty scale in love is low enough sub scale; according to family structwe scale in total confidence sub scale.
