Investigation the relationship between university students' level of trait anxiety and the level of forgiveness

In this research, the relationship between the trait anxiety level and the forgiveness level of university students and the difference of these two variables according to some sociodemographic variables were investigated. The research population consisted of students studying at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Education between 2017 and 2018. The sample of the study consisted of 472 students who were educated in music teaching, psychological counseling and guidance, science teaching, mathematics teaching, and pre-school teaching. Data was collected by Spielberger Trait Anxiety Inventory and Heartland Forgiveness Scale and a questionnaire which was developed by the researcher. Data was analyzed by using SPSS 22 programme. The data were analyzed by independent groups t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation for correlation analysis. The research findings indicated that the level of trait anxiety significantly differentiated the level of forgiveness moderately and negatively.
