Technoparks in the cooperation of university-industry:The case of Bursa Ulutek Technological Development Zone

The aim of this study is to investigate the existing conditions of Technoparks which are university-industry collaboration in Turkey within the frame of the sample of ULUTEK having operations in Bursa.In order to reach this aim, local and foreign literature have been consulted and the theoretical base of the study has been formed due to the help of relevant resources. In the study, development and relevant concepts have primarily been defined, the technoparks which are considered to have a great importance in local development have especially been focused and the related cases in Turkey and the world have been examined.In the application part of the study, interviews with the top ten managers of the busines firms of ULUTEK have been implemented, the findings have been analysed in SPSS 15.0 statistical programme and they have been presented in charts in findings part.In the conclusion of the study, it has been found out that university-industry collaboration does not exist in the expected level; eventhough the expectations of the firms are met sufficiently, they face up with some problems; and the firms in the technopark can not benefit from the facilities that are supplied by both the university and the technopark adequately.
