The role of technoparks in the collaboration of university and industry and Gaziantep Technopark

The collaboration of university and industry is all scientific, technological and economic activities that occuring the result of being combined within a system with the knowledge in the universities and trained manpower with industry's current experience and financial strength. Today, the collaboration of university and industry is often one of the issues being discussed.The counries that the collaboration of university and industry taking place such as ABD, Japan and England are developed countries in the world. As a result of the researches, ıt was seen that the collaboration of university and industry wasn?t enough established. There are many reasons on the basis of this such as parties do not recognize each other enough, education and teaching programs of university is not facing to industry, insecurity between the parties, the absence of an organization which organizes the financial resources and the cooperation, the legislations are not enough quality to promote the cooperation. Besides all this problems, the absence of coercive measures of cooperation is the first of the problems that prevent the collaboration of the university and industry. Especially, the absence of financial autonomy of universities causes being expected everything from state.Technoparks, as technology production center, are a new organization form which important for national economy. In this study the collaboration of university and industry was explained as a concept and development of collaboration in the world and in Turkey was mentioned and to give information about Gaziantep Technopark. It was seen that in next years Gaziantep Technopark will provide important contributions to Gaziantep economy.Keywords: Industry, üniversity, collaboration, technopark, technopolis.
