University's web page design for student, instructors views: Example of Gazi University

Abstract (EN)
The aim of the research is detection of the student and academic staff's opinions for the design of web pages. In accordance with these general objectives and sub-objectives developed by the expert opinion offered, a 5-point likert survey has been applied to 500 students and 200 academic staff of Gazi University, 2011-2012 academic year whose are the formative of research working group outside the field of art and design. In reliability analysis, the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of internal consistency is find out as ? = 0,92. The arithmetic mean and standard deviation values of the data have been calculated and put in to the chart and comments were made according to the findings. A result of the research, considered opinion for the web page design of the university, it has been seen to high fort he rates of participation of questions that is outside of the five of thirty-six questions. The web page design for the university is to be generally positive. The participants have reported the negative opinion for the university web page have job apportunities, housing, page boardcast in foreign language, web page images in the background of the texts, unneccessary images and links. As all opinions are compared, mostly it has been observed that there has been the difference between the students and academic staff's views.
