Abstract (EN)

Urban identity is the integrity of a great process that revealed a cognition, affect the image of the city, bear unique attributes by means of different scale and interpretation in every city, be shaped by factors created by physical, social, cultural, historical and urban functions, be formed by urban society and its life format, constantly evolving and preserve sustainable urban concept extending from past to future.University campuses are the part of the city although they include attributes that can be separated from urban phenomenon by their functions, and factors compose the identity of the urban. In this context, as well as university campuses are elements that reflects the identity of urban, also they have functions which can bring identity to urban.University campuses as a living whole that include buildings, open spaces and green areas like a city. Naturally, beside facilities offer to resolve the physical based requirements for users by buildings and their environments, it is aimed to resolve requirements as spiritual and conceptual based image, identity and meaning. Therefore, it is important to stay on creating the base of the image, identity and meaning in the design process of training, management and social tissue in university campuses. Because of people who uses campus (employees, students, direct/indirect connection ones, visitors) attaches positive values to the space (campus space obtain meanings) - by the way of.In this context, it is aimed to prove the investigation of identity, image and meaning and how identity elements are meant by users on the sample of Çukurova University campus.
