Leadership approaches in universities: Marmara University case

Abstract (EN)

In the higher education institutions, the main purpose of the reaching powerful and qualify management is having a strong leadership, and it can be available only by means of having a good leadership manner. Each manager has to fulfill some leadership roles in the universities, and not only the dean or the president of the university should follow this rule but also other academic employees must have leadership capability. Higher education administrators have to demonstrate new leadership attitudes since both improving the mission and vision of the university is required to have those new manners. Moreover, all the administrators can lead to publish new variable scientific articles, and they need to show respect the differentiation and help to recover unification ethic rules and academic rules. The main aim of this study is to investigate the leadership approaches of the higher education administrators. For this purpose, a questionnaire is used from the researchers to the Marmara University administrators. Also, the results are evaluated in the SPSS 22 programs. According to the results, they have both charismatic and influential leadership manners. Apart from these leadership types, they also have motivation and intellectual leadership attitudes. Furthermore, the current study suggests that exceptions management leadership is the one choosing at least rate. KeyWords : University, Leadership, Approach
