Abstract (EN)

In this study, which deals with higher religious education institutions in Jordan, the historical process of the higher education in the country, its current situation, objectives and problems are examined. In general, the historical processes of Jordanian Shariah faculties, educational structure, objectives, course schedules, areas of employment were discussed and in particular, all the educational elements of the Faculty of Shariah and Islamic Studies of Yermuk University were focused on. This research is designed with a mixed research method (quantitative-qualitative) because it has the feature of examining the subject to be investigated in detail and has an explanatory feature among different phenomena. The motivation source of our study is the idea that there may be alternative religious education practices in higher religious education institutions in a country which is the intersection point of different cultures and civilizations like Jordan. The purpose of our study is to examine the religious education model in the higher education system in Jordon with all dimensions. This study consists of three chapters. In the introduction part of the study, where a literature review and a descriptive method is used, information about the purpose, importance, scope, and method of the study is given. In the first chapter, general information about Jordan was given, the historical process of education was discussed and evaluations were made. In the second chapter, which examines the structure of higher education institutions and the schools of Shariah, all educational elements of Shariah faculties are discussed. In the third chapter, topics such as the departments, curriculums, teaching methods of the Shariah and Islamic Studies Faculty of Yermuk University, which is a high religious education institution in Jordan, were examined. It is thought that this study, in particular, will contribute to the research of foreign education system and, in general, to the literature on religious education.
