Evaluation of awareness among workers in the manufactoring factory for occupational health and safety trainings and immunization for risky places

In Article 4 of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Law, the employer's obligation to provide training is clearly regulated and the employer is obliged to take all kinds of precautions and provide the organization. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the awareness of the OHS trainings received by the workers in the production factory and the awareness of the legal rights and immunization status in the event of an occupational accident for those working in risky places. Yozgat Bozok University Ethics Committee approval was obtained with the decision numbered 36/23 on 21.09.2022 for the study carried out in a socks production factory located in Yozgat Yerkoy Organized Industrial Zone. A questionnaire consisting of 15 questions was applied to 123 people between the ages of 18-64 working in different units of the factory, using face-to-face interview technique. In the evaluation, Kruskal Wallis test, Chi-square Relationship Test and Cremers V Test were used by using SPSS 25 program. The results were considered significant at the p<0.05 level. The hypotheses of the research were evaluated statistically, respectively. It has been observed that the adequacy of OHS trainings is at medium and high levels. A significant difference was found between increasing the quality of OHS trainings and their age. The relationship between educational status and the adequacy of OHS education was found to be significant. The relationship between participation in OHS trainings and increasing the quality of trainings was found to be significant. A significant relationship was found between the knowledge that the costs belong to the employer in the event of an occupational accident and the increase in the quality of OHS trainings. The relationship between the frequency of training and the effect of training on business life was found to be significant. The relationship between the adequacy of the trainings and the type of accident in the workplace was found to be significant. The relationship between the tetanus vaccination status and the knowledge that the costs belong to the employer in the event of an occupational accident was again found to be significant. According to the results of our study, awareness of OHS trainings was found to be significant among the workers in the factory.
