Abstract (EN)

Plant parasitic nematodes play a significant role in causing yield losses in wheat cultivation in Uşak province, yet the exact extent of nematode damage remains unknown to the producers. This study aimed to determine the presence of important plant-parasitic nematodes in wheat production areas of Uşak province. Field studies were conducted during the 2021-2022 wheat growing season, and samples were collected during the milky ripe stage and harvest period of wheat. A total of 40 soil samples were taken. From the samples, sedentary (cyst) nematodes were obtained using the Fenwick method, while mobile nematodes were extracted using the modified Baermann Funnel method. Permanent preparations of the nematodes were prepared and made ready for diagnosis. As a result of the study, the following plant-parasitic nematodes were identified in wheat production areas of Uşak province: Ditylenchus myceliophagus, Ditylenchus dipsaci, Ditylenchus valveus, Ditylenchus clarus, Filenchus thornei, Filenchus cylindricauda, Filenchus filiformis, Safianema lutonense, Helicotylenchus tunisiensis, Bitylenchus dubius, Pratylenchoides alkani, Pratylenchoides crenicauda, Merlinius brevidens, Scutylenchus cylindricaudatus, Scutylenchus koreanus, Aphelenchus avenae, and Heterodera filipjevi.
