The moldmade bowls at Uşak museum

ABSTRACTLydian region that was on the transition ways in Anatolia, in helenisticperiod which had increased the trade and artistic interaction, had got moreimportance. In this study tried to interpret the style connection of Helenistikceramik over the mold made bowls. The moldmade bowls that took over thefunction of Kantharos and sorts as with pine-cone, imbricate, floral, figüred,concentric semi-circle, net pattern and long petal decoration, consist of twoshape type as Attika and Delos. There was exhibit a diverse one in North oniaand Aiolis. However, the dating fact is decoration wholeness on theornamentation in this ceramic type.Moldmade bowls at the Uşak Museum, totaly twenty-one, includes decoratedwith floral, figured, net-pattern and Grek character examples. None of themhad find consequence of archaeological excavation and do not known theirfinding place, they had brought to museum by purchase. So, to mention about aatelier that produce moldmade bowl in Lydian region over this study,impossible for now. However the cross sign on the 4. bowl has been evocate thepossibility being the symbol of an atelier. There were some bowls that used onidentical motives among the investigated floral bowls, but when consides theform dimensions, been understood they hadn?t proved the same mold. On theother hand, there are products have same form features although have anylikeness on its motives.The moldmade bowls speciality of helenistic period, especially became morepopuler in 2. century B.C. the bowls that constituted in this study, dated bestearly the last quarter of the 3. century B.C, best late the middle of the 1.century B.C by style comparision. But the date of majority was determined 2.century B.C that mold made bowls was became more populer. The motivesused on the bowls looks alike mostly the products at the onian region andPergamon.
