The use of emotional intelligence in English language teaching

ABSTRACT This study, which introduces emotional intelligence, aims to evaluate teachers and students information about emotional intelligence and give some data and suggestions about emotional intelligence. This study has five chapters. The first chapter aims to give the problem to be discussed through the study. This chapter also includes the aim and scope of the study. At the end of the chapter methodology and assumptions have been presented. The second chapter presents the literature review of the thesis. This chapter provides the theoretical background of the study. Chapter three deals with the data analysis and interpretation of the data collected from teachers and students. The data has been given in charts and tables representing the participants' knowledge about emotional intelligence. Chapter four represents a suggestion part for teachers, students and parents. These suggestions are based on the findings of the questionnaire. Chapter five is the conclusion part and gives a summary of the study. 11
