From utopia to climfiction: Ecocritization of nature-cultural dichotomy in the case of three climate fiction novels in Turkish literature

In this study, three climate fiction novels from Turkish literature were examined using ecocritical theory. The works discussed in the first part of the study were evaluated through the nature-culture dichotomy on a spectrum from utopia to dystopia. The works discussed in the second part were analyzed along a line ranging from fairy tale to utopia and eco-dystopia/climate fiction in Turkish Literature. In the third part of the study, Selim Erdoğan's Kurbağa Adası, Oya Baydar's Köpekli Çocuklar Gecesi, Defne Suman's novel Yağmur'dan Sonra were examined in the context of nature-culture dichotomy and hyperobject, hyperclimate concepts. In the conclusion, whether there is an exit from eco-dystopia/climate fiction to eco-utopia was discussed.
