Abstract (EN)

Bathymetry is defined as sea and ocean depth measurements and is made by many methods. Traditional methods, which are still used from the past to the present, have been replaced by modern methods with the development of technology. Sonar systems, LIDAR and remote sensing systems can be given as examples of these modern methods. The use of acoustic systems or LIDAR is not economical in terms of both time and cost. In this study, remote sensing methods have been investigated to minimize time and cost. It is aimed to extract information about bathymetry using free satellite images. The method data used includes Sentinel-2 satellite images taken at different wavelengths and reference bathymetry values. Then, these data were regression analysis using the band ratio method. Bathymetry analyses were performed in areas of unknown depth with the obtained regression coefficients. The obtained bathymetry maps and it was found that they displayed significant results. In addition, the shoreline was determined using the OTSU thresholding algorithm. The relationship between the calculated bathymetric data and the detected shoreline was examined. These analyses were applied separately for four and it was concluded that the monthly averages of the derived bathymetry data were significant with the monthly shoreline change.
