Applications of quality management system: Findings from Gaziantep industry

The growth and the survival of the firrms depend on being custemer oriented and the ability of fast and good quality producing. Companies must apply international standarts for being succesfull in global market. In addition, every organisation must have quality management system which is suitable for them. The aim of this study, while putting forward aplication situation of standarts in organizations having ISO 9000 certificate in Gaziantep industry,. to analysis Quality Management System on the organizations. This study is important that puts forward profile of organisations and points out how quality management system is being aplicated in organisations. This thesis study consists of four parts. In the first part, history, elements, dimensions of quality are examined by handling quality and total quality management matters. Total quality management, and its basis concepts, importance and relation with ISO 9000 have been emphasized. In the second part, by explaning quality assurance system, various quality standarts as ISO 9000, 9001 have been pointed out. In the third part, by handling "Quality Management System", the aplication principles of ISO 9000:2000 Quality Management System and latest revisions are explained. In the fourth part, The aplication status of Quality management system in the 35 companies of 51 companies having ISO 9000 certificate in Gaziantep evaluated by analysing information which collected via questionnaire. SPSS/PC+V7.5 program is used in statistical analysis of study. As a result of study, however organisations have various quality management system the system hasn't been implemented exactly in many organisations is revealeted. Some defectiveness, especially cost of production, team work, education of personel, to authorize personel matters has been revealeted.
