Uyghur folk humor important types(Nesi̇rdi̇n Ependi̇, Seley Çakkan, Molla Zeydi̇n, Hi̇sam Kurban)

Before beginning the study, we have to state that there are many studies about the important humour characters and these studies centre on Nesirdin Ependi. Nesirdin Ependi is the most famous characters of türkish oral culture, whose jokes are told all over the türkish regions. Nesirdin Ependi is the main character of commonly shared jokes of the Uyghur Public. He is an immortal character in Uyghurs memory, who is hardworking, brave, intelligent, kind-heartet, humorist and altough he gives the rough edge of his tongue, he has a soft heart. Because of that, we smile when we hear the name of intelligent and shrewd Nesirdin Ependi. The Uyghur public have a very rich oral culture tradition. Seley Cakkan and Molla Zeydin are two joke characters that lived in the Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region in the 19th century. The jokes which belongs to talented humorist Buiki Uyghur, contextually have the same properties. The jokes of Seley Cakkan and Molla Zeydin had protest feature for the 19th century Uyghur People against the invading Chinese-Manchu regime, such as violence, oppression, class distinction, inequality, injustice, exploitation and assimilation policies. Seley Cakkan and Molla Zeydin reveal the political, socio-economic and cultural environment of the period through their jokes. They articulated the feelings of the Uyghur people during the occupation period. In this period, they have become a ray of sunshine in their rightful struggles. At this point, all experiences of social memory have passed into history. Hisam Kurban is a person who continues, enriches and emits the humor art of Uyghur Public. He has become an oft-cited person, such as Nesirdin Ependi, Seley Çakkan and Molla Zaydin in contemporary Uyghur literature. From 1982 to 1998, six books have been published about Hisam with the compilation work of Mahmut Muhammet. In this way, the wits of Hisam were recognized in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, among the people and in the scientific community. With the jokes of Nesirdin Ependi, Seley Cakkan, Molla Zeydin and Hisam Kurban, the uneasiness of the ruling class against the Uyghur public in their unlawful and unjust practices were expressed in a sharp and humorous manner, throgh the common messages given behind the element of humor. Thus, we have reached the result that these humorists were the voice of the Uyghur public.
