Abstract (EN)
Refugees are exposed to many traumas throughout their lives and feel the long-term effects of these traumas. In addition to examining the generally negative outcomes of trauma, in recent years the concept of post-traumatic growth (PTG) has begun to be focused on. PTG is defined as a positive psychological change experienced as a result of coping with very difficult life circumstances. This study aimed to examine the effects of psychological resilience and emotion regulation on post-traumatic growth and the relationship between these variables. 126 Uyghur refugees living in Turkey between the ages of 18-65 were included in the study. Participants were given the Sociodemographic Information Form, Life Events Checklist – 5, Post-Traumatic Growth Scale, Brief Psychological Resilience Scale, Emotion Regulation Scale and Perceived Stress Scale 10. Correlation analysis was used to see the variables to which PTG is related, and Hierarchical Regression Analysis was used to determine the predictors of PTG. As a result of the analyses, it was concluded that the reappraisal emotion regulation strategy predicts PTG. Additionally, it was observed that there was no significant relationship between suppression emotion regulation strategy and psychological resilience and PTG. It was determined that ASÖ 10 had no relationship with other variables.
