The aim of this study is to analyze the temporal variation and correctness of thematic maps produced by satellite imagery using the LUCAS and CORINE databases. The Ortahisar neighborhood of Trabzon and Paris, France, and its environs were chosen as study areas. LANDSAT images from 2007, 2014, 2018, and 2022 were used in the implementation phase for Ortahisar, as were SENTINEL images from 2018 and 2022 for Paris and its surroundings. By applying uncontrolled and controlled classification to all satellite images, followed by accuracy analysis, the kappa statistical value and overall accuracy were calculated. Satellite images were categorized using the LUCAS and CORINE classification system, and information classes were acquired to assess the LU/LC distribution of the research areas. The change analysis process was then used to determine the evolution of knowledge classes across time. To assess the thematic accuracy of results, the classified images were matched to attribute data from the LUCAS database and raster data from the CORINE database. The classified images were generalized to the smallest mapping unit of 25 hectares for comparison with CORINE data. While existing field study point data were used to compare with LUCAS data for the area covering Paris and its surroundings, because these data weren't available for Ortahisar, the LU/LC classes of points determined within the region study area were determined using a high-resolution PlanetScope image. The NDBI index and the NDBI index for both study area were determined using GEE in the final stage.
