The effect of distance education advantages on attitude towards distance education: An application on international trade and finance students

The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between the demographic characteristics of the participants and their attitudes towards distance education. The importance of the research is to understand the effectiveness of distance education applications, which are increasing in the field of education, and their effects on student perceptions. A survey conducted on 110 participants was used as there search method. The survey includes participants' demographic information such as gender, grade level and distance education status, as well as various questions about distance education. The findings showed that the majority of participants were women and gender did not have a significant impact on their perceptions of distance education. In terms of grade level, the highest participation rate came from 2nd grade students, and a balanced distribution was observed among other grade levels. Although the situation of receiving distance education was experienced by the majority of participants, this situation did not have a statistically significant effect on their perceptions of distance education. Normality analysis revealed that most of the sub-dimensions of the scale were normally distributed. The averages of the answers to the scale questions show that the participants generally expressed moderate opinions about various aspects of distance education. Inconclusion, this research shows that perceptions of distance education may be influenced by demographic factors such as grade level. These results emphasize the importance of considering the needs and expectations of different student groups in the development and implementation of distance education policies. These findings provide important in sights for educational institutions and relevant policy makers to improve the distance education experiences of students at various grade levels and meet their educational needs more effectively.
