Abstract (EN)
The developments in science and technology have been changing the structure of the society. The developments have created the industry and information society. Furthermore, especially the developments of technology have brought different dimensions to the education system and applications. Using the opportunities of technology, distance education which favours lifelong education for the students of all ages serves a different education system.The distance education students are different from the students who are in classic education. Distance education students are in the center of learning system on teaching activities with their teacher. The motivation of students in distance education is playing a key role to increase the level of effectiveness.The main goal of this research is to determine the student?s level of academic motivation in distance education. In this research 1560 students, in Sakarya University Adapazarı Technical College, respond the research survey.The results of the research indicate that the student?s level of academic motivation was 8,20 that it was scaled between -18 and +18. However there has been no significant difference between gender variable and the level of academic motivation. There have been significant differences, according to the grade, age, department and the high school they graduated from.
