The effects of game and activity based values ​​education practices on the academic achievement and value perceptions of secondary school students within the scope of music lessons in distance education

This research was planned to investigate the effects of game and activity based values education practices on the academic achievements and value perceptions of secondary school students within the scope of music lessons in distance education. In the study, an experimental design with a pre- and post-test control group was used. Accordingly, an equal number of two groups were created at the same grade level, a music education program with value content prepared by the researcher was applied to one group, and the effect of this program on the students was examined. In the other group, the education was continued in a traditional way. A literature review was conducted on the research topic, resources on the topic were examined, and activities were prepared for the values contained in the program. In addition, as a result of these activities, game-based competitions were held through the programs existing on the distance education platform. The data obtained were interpreted and presented in the form of graphs and tables. In accordance with the findings obtained at the end of the study, the results and suggestions for the results were shared. In line with the results, it was stated that in the music lesson curricula prepared, activities on values education, which is our educational vision, should be emphasized.
