Examination of the relationship between the goal originationand learning strategies of distance learners and the time tofinish the program

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between the goal orientations and learning strategies of individuals who graduated from the programs of Anadolu University Open Education, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in the 2019-2020 academic year, and the duration of the program. Quantitative methods were used in the collection and analysis of data. The findings were collected using two different measurement tools. In order to determine the goal orientations of distance learners in the research, the "Achievement Orientation Scale", which was created by Elliot and Murayama (2008) and adapted to Turkish by Uçar (2012) and whose reliability and validity studies were carried out, was developed by Weinstein and Mayer (1986) to determine the learning strategies of distance learners. The "Learning Strategies Scale", which was created by Küçük (2010), which was based on the classification and validity and reliability study, and the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher to be used in some data related to its independent variables were used. The sample of the research consists of 4598 people who graduated from the programs of Anadolu University Open Education, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in the 2019-2020 academic year. The data were collected on demand and one time through Anadolu University Open Education system automation. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used in the analysis of the data obtained in the study. Findings show that there is a negative low-significant relationship between goal orientations and learning strategies and the duration of completing the program.
