Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to research how different doses of oral use of grape seed extract effects cochlear hair cells. Our experimental study was based on 24 Sprague Downey female rats with mean age 12 months and mean of weight 300 gr. Otoscopic examinations and distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE) tests were done under general anesthesia and hearing thresholds were obtained prior to acoustic trauma. Afterwards rats were exposed to white band noise of 4 kHz with an intensity level of 103 dB in a sound-proof testing booth. To create on acoustic trauma. After acoustic trauma, rats were divided into three groups; the control group (n:8), the study group 1 (n:8, grape seed extract, 150 mg/kg/day, 10 day), the study group 2 (n:8, grape seed extract, 250 mg/kg/day, 10 day). Grape seed extract was given by gavage. Totaly three times DPOAE test result were measured; in pre trauma, post trauma day 1, 10. Pre trauma and post trauma first day, there was significant statistically difference between the DPOAE SNR results two measurement (p<0,05). Measurement of post trauma last day, DPOAE SNR results of the the rats were similar to pre taruma mesurement but there was no significant statistically difference between three groups (p> 0,05). After the end of study , we wasn't show that grape seed extract therapeutic effect against acoustic trauma cause of the lack of time acoustic trauma. Key Words: Acoustic Trauma, grape seed extract, DPOAE, SNR, antioxidan
