Abstract (EN)

Non-metric folk songs, which are one of our important cultural legacies, act as an important source for knowing the values that make us unique in the sense of music and literature. In this study, we presented a detailed literature review of a large number of sources related to the non-metric folk song types such as Bozlak, Barak, etc. which are known as almost everyone in Anatolia. Also, we discussed and revealed false facts and incorrect information in the literature. In addition to this, we tried to determine the different aspects of these non-metric folk song types in terms of musically. While doing this, we made use of the sound recordings of some master performers of this type and benefit from some important written sources available. Furthermore, we provided a systematic method for non-metric folk song enthusiasts by explaining in detail how the notation and methodological education should be within the framework of systematic musicology in our study.
