Critical edition and analysis of Vahdi İbrahim Efendi's book "Tevshihu't Takvim fi Sherhi Hilyahti'r-Rasuli'l Kareem"

While the first information about Hilye-i Nebevî was in hadith, siyer and shemail works, in later periods it was collected in separate works and as a result as part of the hadis literature were written works which main topic was the hilye of the Prophet (pbuh). Hilye is the most important type that emerged as a result of the longing, love and respect for the Messenger of Allah in Turkish-Islamic culture and civilization. Hilye-i Nebevîs are works in which the physical and spiritual characteristics of the Messenger of Allah as a human being are explained, and they have emerged in the form of prose, verse and calligraphy plates since the fifteenth century. In this thesis, Vahdi Ibrahim Efendi's Tevshihu't-Takvim fi Sherhi Hilyeti'r-Rasuli'l-Kerim, which is one of the hilye-type works, has been examined and analyzed. This work has been written by Vahdi Efendi, one of the Ottoman scholars, with the thought of the love for our Prophet and the need to know his characteristics. The purpose of the study is to reveal the historical value of this work and to publish it in order to benefit from it and to bring it to scientific field. In this research, which consists of three main parts, the type of hilye and shemâil are examined and information is given about the main hilyes written in the Ottoman period. Afterwards, the life and works of the author are discussed, and the shape and content features of the hilye in question and the authentic text are given.
