Abstract (EN)
The study was conducted experimentally in a randomized controlled manner to determine the effect of white noise on breastfeeding success and anxiety level in primipara mothers who gave birth vaginally. The data of the study were collected at the "Gynecology and Obstetrics" service of Yalova State Hospital between March 2019 and August 2019. The universe of the study consisted of mothers and babies hospitalized in Yalova State Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Service and meeting the research criteria. As a result of the power analysis performed to calculate the sample size in the study, the power of the study was found to be 0.90, with a confidence interval of 95% and an error margin of 0.05 when 30 white noise was taken into the research groups and 30 control groups. "Personal Information Form", "LATCH Breastfeeding Diagnosis and Evaluation Scale", "State Anxiety Scale", CD Player, Sound Decibel Meter, White Noise CD were used to collect data. In the evaluation of the data, in the SPSS Statistics 23 program; Percentage distribution, mean, chi-square test, t-test for independent and dependent groups, analysis of variance, correlation and regression analysis were used, p <0.05 was accepted for the significance level of statistical tests. There was no statistically significant difference between the white noise and the control group according to the mean of state anxiety 1st observation and 3rd observation (p> 0.05), there was a statistically significant difference according to the mean scores of state anxiety 2nd observation and 4th observation was observed (p <0.001). There was a statistically significant difference between the white noise and the control group according to the LATCH 1st observation and 2nd observation mean scores (p <0.001). As a result of the research; It was determined that the anxiety level of the white noise group was lower, the success of breastfeeding was higher, the calming and relaxing effect of white noise decreased the anxiety level of the mother and was an effective method in supporting breastfeeding success.
