Abstract (EN)
The thesis within the scope of "Social Work Intervention to Disadvantaged Groups with Case Examples" is a qualitative research on the social work profession; interview techniques, case management process and possible problems that focus on the disadvantaged groups of the society. The framework in the first part of the study focuses on the concepts of social service and disadvantage. In the second part, social work ethics and basic proffessional values, effective communication in case management, interview techniques and problems that can be experienced by combining them are discussed. In the last part of the research, the cases obtained from the experiences of social workers and the intervention methods they applied, findings, discussions, results and suggestions are included. Social work is a profession that advocates for the rights of disadvantaged people, groups and societies and facilitates their access to basic needs. The social work profession includes various disadvantages such as the elderly, the disabled, the poor and women. Considering the content diversity of social work, as many different disadvantaged groups as possible were included in this study in order to increase data saturation. Within the scope of the research, there were three cases regarding elderly individuals, one case regarding women victims of violence, six cases regarding children in need of protection, three cases involving children who were victims of incest, four cases involving disabled individuals, three cases regarding poor individuals and two cases involving dependent individuals. 22 case examples addressing seven different disadvantaged groups were reached. "What is the case that most affected you in the social work profession?" In the interviews based on the question, in addition to sharing the case, the situations encountered in case solution and various suggestions put forward by the participants that are thought to increase the quality of the profession are included. In this context, the data obtained in the study were divided into themes, sub-themes and codes within the scope of the qualitative study. The problem of the research is the difficulties experienced by social workers in case management, the problems experienced during the intervention process and what deficiencies they see in social work practices. It is anticipated that the study will contribute to the literature by including case examples and evaluations from the eyes of experts in the field of social work.
