Abstract (EN)
Disasters occur on earth for various reasons. First of all humans, entire environment is effected by the disasters. The increase in the number of disasters, especially today, draws attention. The Lake Van Basin which is one of the 26 basin of our country is very important and valuable because of Lake Van and many other specialities. Lake Van which is located in this closed basin is effected by all the facilities (nature and antropogenic) negatively or positivily occuring in this area. This study focuses on the future and importance of Lake Van on the basis of its current situation and importance was made with the aim of revealing the state of being affected by disasters that may occur. In this study, a review type research was carried out using the literature review method has been made. As a result of the researches and observations; A visible coastal pollution problem with the increase of human population in the surrounding area of Lake Van has arisen day by day. Due to human population and possible global warming, there are visible changes in the water level of the Lake Van. Since the basin is closed, the mining and the other facilities carried out in the affect the lake. Due to the weak vegetation, around the lake, especially the area around lake is affected by the avalanches, landslides, rock falls and floods. Due to the fact that the region is on the earthquake fault lines, when the earthquake occurs; with the infrastructure and the constructions. The Lake Van will be effected badly. In this study, both our country and the world current situation of Lake Van (being affected by pollution and disasters), which has an important place for and taking into account all these scenarios, the protection of Lake Van and it is foreseen that it will contribute to the work to be done in terms of sustainability. Moreover, in the present study, with the increasing population and developing technology in Lake Van, the earth's surface the way the ecosystem is used and its effect from all kinds of disasters that occur or will occur, and our future. It is believed that it will shed light on studies on the subject.
